GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. Be nice and play by the rules!

Please remember this is a simple church fundraiser run by amateurs. We are doing our best to keep the auction running smoothly and to make sure you stay happy while adhering to all the laws and policies surrounding this type of event.

2. Only post a comment if you are bidding on the item!

While remarks are welcome, any comments that do not include a valid bid will be removed. Feel free to use the share buttons to take the discussion to your Facebook page, Twitter account, etc. If you have questions, comments or suggestions, please contact us directly.

3. Keep to the honor system!

By posting a comment/bid, you are agreeing to pay that amount if you are the winning bidder when the auction closes. DO NOT POST A BID IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PAY.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Read all this page!

2. Find an item you would like to bid on. You can search by keyword, filter by category or location, or browse all Items or Services.

3. Place your bid. HOW TO BID:

  1. Make sure you read all the details about the item (if you have a question, send us an email).
  2. The current bid will be at the top of the comments section, at the very bottom of the page.
  3. Place a bid that is higher than the current bid by typing the $ amount in the “What’s your bid?” box (All bids in USD only). If yours will be the first bid on an item, click on “Leave a reply” and enter an amount equal or greater to the minimum bid listed in the item details.
  4. Please bid in increments of 50-cent or whole dollar amounts.
  5. Check the box “Notify me of follow-up comments via email” if you would like to receive email notification when others outbid you.

NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

Winners will be notified Tuesday, February 26, 2013, by telephone and/or email.

DELIVERY OF ITEMS

Unless otherwise specified, items will be available for pick-up:

Friday, March 1, 2013, 7:30-9:00pm at the Summerwood Stake Center

Some gift certificates or items can be mailed or hand-delivered *if you are willing to pay the associated postage or delivery costs. Details will be confirmed with each winner upon notification.

*Postage Costs: Based on current USPS first-class postage rates.

*Delivery Costs: Based on distance from the Summerwood Stake Center to the delivery location;
calculated using the 2013 Standard Mileage Rate of 56.5 cents per mile.

Winners are solely responsible for redeeming gift cards and gift certificates prior to any published expiration dates. If not otherwise specified, certificates should be used within 6 months from the close of the Auction.

METHODS OF PAYMENT

Cash

If picking-up item: Payment of the full winning bid amount will be due upon pick-up 2/28/13 or 3/1/13.

If having item delivered: Payment of the full winning bid amount plus delivery costs will be due upon delivery, which should be no later than 3/3/13.

Check

Make checks payable to “Lake Houston YSA Branch”. Checks must be drawn on U.S. banks.

If picking-up item: Payment of the full winning bid amount will be due upon pick-up 2/28/13 or 3/1/13.

If having item delivered: Payment of the full winning bid amount plus delivery costs will be due upon delivery, which should be no later than 3/3/13.

Credit or Debit Card

If picking-up or having item delivered: Full payment (including any delivery costs) must be received prior to pick-up or delivery.
PLEASE NOTE: Credit and debit card payments will incur an additional processing charge from PayPal (2.9% plus 30 cents per transaction). Multiple items won by the same individual, family or household can be combined into a single credit/debit card transaction.

For example:

You win an item with a bid of $20. The item is a gift certificate that you want mailed to you, and you want to pay with a debit card. We will email you a payment request via Paypal for:

(bid amount + postage/delivery costs + $0.30) x 1.029 =
(20 + 0.46 + 0.30) x 1.029 = $21.36 TOTAL AMOUNT DUE
